There's a way your speedlite can work without being mounted on a camera

Consisting of a trigger and a receiver, this system will allow you to move your camera around and use it remotely.

AUTOMATIC STANDBY FEATURE

As a power-saving feature, the PT-16 trigger and receiver will automatically shut off - ensuring months of usage without battery replacement. 

SUPPORTS MULTIPLE LIGHTING SETUP

The PT-16 trigger can be set to accommodate more than one (1) receiver. By changing the channel for each receiver, you can trigger only the lights that you need to light up.
